Projects

Lines of action

From the Royal Union of Fighting Bull Breeders we promote the creation of bridges with the research and application of science for the management of livestock farming through development of innovation projects at national and European level, collaborating with universities and regional research centers such as the University of Córdoba, the University of Zaragoza, the Complutense University of Madrid or the CENSYRA and the IMIDRA.

GO TAURUS
The TAURO Operational Group is a consortium of entities with different profiles that have joined forces to strengthen fighting bull livestock through a project of 440,000 euros, divided into three periods co-financed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food via the European Union, in the 2020 call through the European Agrarian Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).

Captained by UCTL, Tauro has six fundamental partners who have researched, analyzed, and worked on the enhancement and importance of unknown, sustainable and healthy meat.

The entities that are integrated into the project, in addition to the bravo livestock entity, are: University of Córdoba, Coque Word (two Michelin star restaurant), the Royal Spanish Federation of Select Livestock Associations (RFEAGAS), the Association Agraria de Jóvenes Agricultores (ASAJA) and the Vincci hotel chain.

AGROCHEF from the field to the table
The Agrochef innovation project brings together the joint work between FACYRE (Federation of Cooks and Pastry Chefs of Spain) and Alianza Rural in collaboration with the Royal Union of Fighting Bull Breeders, the Royal Spanish Hunting Federation, the Royal Spanish Federation of Hunting Associations Select Livestock, the Agrarian Association of Young Farmers (ASAJA), Abastores Granja Online, Aplus Gastromarketing and the University of Córdoba.

Agrochef is a platform that brings together small producers at the national level (ASAJA, RFEAGAS, UCTL and RFEC) to hoteliers from various associations (FACYRE) with which it aims to improve the food system of the European Union by making it more sustainable and respectful with the environment.

Naturalmente Bravo Madrid
is a project of the Community of Madrid that aims to characterize and determine the quality of Bravo Meat by characterizing the differences between the meat of females, males and processed animals to publicize the exceptional nature of Bravo meat.

Fundación Toro de Lidia
Non-profit entity dedicated to the promotion and legal defense of all bullfighting. It brings together all the actors linked to the bullfighting spectacle (bullfighters, ranchers, businessmen and fans).

The Foundation was born in June 2015 at the initiative of the Union of Bull Breeders of Fighting Bulls to provide a coordinated and effective response to the growing number of anti-bullfighting attacks suffered by the sector in recent years.

Federación de Asociaciones de Raza Autóctona de Lidia

Non-profit entity established in 2015 by the five associations officially recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment for the management of the Herd Book of the Lidia Bovine Breed (Spanish Group of Brave Cattle, Association of Lidia Livestock, Lidia Livestock Breeders Association, Lidia Livestock Farmers United and the Lidia Bull Breeders Union), thus representing more than 1,000 livestock farms throughout Spain that maintain more than 200,000 purebred animals registered in the Genealogical Book.
